Merton is a childminder-led Agency

This means that the council deals directly with the childminder for anything related to funded hours. The relationship is between the childminder and the local council. This means that:

  1. You would usually need to reach out to the council to get set up

  2. An account is made for you on the online portal

  3. You are responsible for adding funded children onto the portal

  4. All payments are made directly to you

What you need to do to get set up for funded hours

There are 5 steps to getting registered with Merton to provide funded hours:

Step 1

To begin your application, send an expression of interest by email to [email protected] (An email template has been drafted for you below.)

Step 2

You will receive an email with a choice of dates and times for an Early Education Funding Authorisation Appointment. All providers wishing to offer funded Early Education must book an Authorisation Appointment before their application can continue.

Step 3

Once you have booked an appointment you will be emailed:

  • the Early Education Funding Agreement. This includes all the terms and conditions you must adhere to and details information you must provide

  • a funded provider competency checklist

  • a link to the Funded Early Education Guidance on this website page

  • a Bank Details form

Please read through these documents in preparation for your Appointment and complete and return the bank details form to [email protected]

Step 4

Attend your Appointment. If you do not attend your appointment, your application cannot continue at this time. The appointment will last approximately 30-45 minutes.

Step 5

If accepted, an account will be set up for you on the Early Years Provider Hub and you will be emailed instructions for how to log in and complete your Funding Agreement.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am a newly Koru Kids registered childminder. Koru Kids have been in contact with your team and have provided all the details needed to be registered in your borough and operate as a childminder.

I would like to be able to accept funded hours payments for 2,3 and 4 year old funding. Would you be able to help me get set up?
